Christmas Raffle - Prizewinners

As usual we held our Annual Charity Christmas Raffle in aid of St Christopher's Hospice. We raised £105.00 for St Christopher's so a HUGE Thank You to everyone that helped support this worthy cause.

Charity Fundraiser - Thank You

Our very good friend Lawrence Makoare - Lurtz, The Witchking & Gothmog in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy & Mr Kil in the James Bond film Die Another Day came over for our Charity Fundraiser on 8th June where he met some students and signed autographs in aid of St Christopher's Hospice.

Pictured with Kyoshi Leonard are Brookk & Dannyell, Lee, Lawrence and Mick Spring from MSPG Autographs who was able to help in bringing Lawrence over to us.

We raised £200 for St Christopher's Hospice and we would like to thank each and every one of you who did support.

Congratulations to Kyoshi Leonard Woplin

Renshi Leonard Woplin 6th Dan in Freestyle Karate, has been awarded his 2nd Dan in Brithai (a Self Defence Martial Art) by the British National Martial Arts Association. 

Huge congratulations from all the staff and students of Gaijin Ryu. 

Demo Team 2007

The Gaijin Ryu Demo Team had a successful time in 2007 and we are already being booked for events in 2008.

Training in the USA

Kyoshi Len & Jola recently visited Los Angeles, California and had the pleasure of meeting Gene LeBell - The Godfather of Grappling. Gene is a legend in the world of Grappling/Martial Arts and has worked with a huge list of famous Martial Artists, including Bruce & Brandon Lee and Chuck Norris to name a few. They were both truly honoured to be able to have this meeting.

During their visit to Los Angeles, Kyoshi Len was also able to take part in a training session in Kenpo Karate. Arranged by George Hertzberg, fellow Martial Artist and Actor, George introduced Kyoshi Len to this great Martial Art. 

During the training session Kyoshi Len also introduced them to the Gaijin Ryu Karate System.

It just goes to show you that Martial Arts is a worldwide affair where ideas and training can intermingle.
